CHD MD Launch Event Round Up At Honey’s Harvest Farm

Fall was in the air on the brisk, breezy and sunny Sunday of October 8th for the Children’s Health Defense Maryland Launch Event. The perfect setting for the event was the beautiful Honey’s Harvest Farm in Lothian, MD as seen in the photo collage. Attendees were welcomed by the sound of music and inviting displays in the barn at the Farmer’s Market, the Farm Store as well as the CHD MD registration and book tables and a food truck with organic options.

After browsing the wares, attendees were invited to assemble under the big tent to be educated by speakers including attorney Alexis Baden-Mayer, Anna Chaney, CFNC, Chef Rebecca Feldman, CINC and John VanAlstine, bay restoration oyster farmer.

The speakers spoke respectively about upcoming challenges to farmers, the environment and the food supply; healthy soil and nutrient dense foods; organic gourmet with food samples and regenerative interventions for the soil and our waterways. After informative presentations and a lively Q & A, attendees were invited to take an educational farm tour. Much to the delight of the children present, there was also an inflated castle playhouse, It was a wonderful community event and a great way to launch our Maryland CHD chapter.
